The magic of an integrated point of sale system is
mostly made possible because of the machine readable codes found
in Bar Codes. Recognizing the power of bar codes when applied across
an entire Garden Center inventory is the reason we designed our
point of sale system to automatically recognize a bar code and look
it up from any point in the point of sale process. You could, for
example, be entering a method of payment such as a credit card and
decide to add one more item. By simply reading the bar code on the
next item the point of sale system will instantly return to the
inventory lookup and add the scanned item to your invoice list.
Garden Center Software also is able to read any popular bar code
standard and track unlimited bar codes per Stock Keeping Unit (SKU)
allowing the retail clerk to scan any available bar code on an item
and lookup the appropriate SKU for resale. These are excellent examples
of the intelligence built into Garden Center Software's point of
sale system design.
Garden Center Software is compatible with any popular
credit or debit card scheme and is compatible with any of the major
banking and credit card clearing systems available today. We leverage
the power of third party credit card processing systems including
ICverify (USA and International) and Trend Check (Canada). This
eliminates the need to buy or lease separate transact terminals
helping to lower your total cost of operations. The unique computerized
version of credit card clearing eliminates the usual 20 - 30 second
wait for the machine to dial, connect and negotiate a communications
session with the credit card clearing house. Once you have sent
your first transaction in for the day it keeps the line open for
up to 3 minutes to wait for your next transaction from any register
in the system. The usual credit check turnaround time using this
exciting system is usually less than 3 seconds start to finish.
This saves your customer even more waiting time ensuring quicker
processing times and more throughput per lane per day. We've seen
line ups at Mother's Day or Easter reduced from 10 people deep to
less than 3 people deep while revenues also increased because of
less last minute line drops due to excessive waiting times and frustration.
Every transaction is posted real time contributing
to the sales journal and balance sheet every time you post any transaction.
This ensures accurate real time accounting that translates into
effective cash flow management and inventory control. Any modern
point of sale system worth it's salt can't function adequately without
real time posting eliminating unnecessary end of day closing routines
that used to take hours. Now your day end closing consists of nothing
more than counting your money. You can even put off counting your
money until the next day making end of day routines nothing more
than pushing a button and closing the point of sale register as
you leave the door on your way home on time for supper for the first

Transaction Rollback. Automatic Transaction Rollback is usually
only found on the biggest and best mainframe systems used in transaction

important. Our design philosophy included this incredible and necessary
feature because it ensures a perfectly posted transaction every
single time. A typical point of sale transaction affects more than
6 separate systems including accounting, inventory, sales journal,
taxation tracking, receivables and customer data. If any one of
these misses their portion of the critical posting of a sale then
all or some of the accounting is going to be out of balance and
you will likely become a candidate for insanity as you try to figure
out how to make the system balance. With Garden Center Software
you can rest assured that your accounting always balances. We know
that checking out all six corners might be a bit more than you want
to do to ensure that the transaction is properly posted so we gave
you a simple test that works throughout the entire integrated point
of sale and accounting system - simply put - if you get a printed
receipt or invoice you know it's properly posted everywhere because
it is the last thing we do "only" after everything else
is successfully posted. The same applies to receivables, payables
and general journal entries. If the you lose power or the system
quits half way through your transaction posting then it simply checks
the last transaction for completeness and backs it out piece by
piece like it never happened next time you start up and resume your
computer operations. This all happens transparently and automatically
leaving you once again with the simple test - no paper - no transaction.
